Isfahan

Isfahan is a historic city in central Iran. This city is the capital of the province of Isfahan and also the city of Isfahan. It is the third largest city in Iran, the third most populous city in Iran after Tehran and Mashhad, and also the 165th most populous city in the world and the ninth most populous city in Asia.

The city became the capital of Iran between 1050 and 1722, especially in the 16th century under the Safavid dynasty, and prospered. There are several monuments in the city, some of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage.

This city is famous for its beautiful Iranian architecture, covered stairways, mosques and unique minarets. This led to Isfahan being called half the world in popular culture.
