If you ask any tourist that, what was your purpose of visiting Iran?  He/she definitely answers: to see the glory of ancient Persia, to feel the sense of history. Today we will be on an excursion to out of Shiraz. We will visit Persepolis and Necropolis. Persepolis (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is the name of that place, where you could see the greatness of Achaemenid Empire (550 B.C). Although after Alexander the great’s attack to Iran, he set fired the Persepolis and over 90% of the palace was flattened, yet you can see the beauties and the glory of Achaemenid architecture and civilization. Your next stop in today’s tour is Necropolis (Naghsh-e-rostam), another masterpiece of those days’ architects. Necropolis is famous because of the group of ancient Iranian rock reliefs cut into the cliff, from both the Achaemenid and Sassanid periods. Necropolis is the place where four of Iranian ancient kings were buried there.
