Nasir Al-Molk Mosque

Nasir Al-Molk Mosque or Pink Mosque is one of the ancient mosques in Shiraz. This mosque is located in the old quarter of Shiraz, on Karim Khan Zand Street, near Shah cheragh. This building was built by order of Mirza Hassan Ali Khan, nicknamed Nasir al-Molk, who was one of the nobles of Shiraz. Its construction lasted about 12 years and from 1255 to 1267 solar. Nasir Al-Molk Mosque is one of the most valuable mosques in Iran from a tiling point of view and is unique from a construction point of view, especially Mogharnas. Its area is 2890 square meters and its infrastructure is 2216 square meters.

In this mosque, the pink tiles are used for the decorations, for this reason it is also called the Pink Mosque of Iran. The main entrance to the mosque is made of seven color tiles with many Shiraz iris decorations.

This mosque has two Iwans: the North Iwan, which was built with a height of eight meters, and the South Iwan, which has no special use, were created for symmetry with the North Iwan.

The mosque has two naves, one in the west and the other in the east. The eastern nave is a winter nave facing the qibla, and it should also be used in very hot summer weather, which is designed to prevent direct sunlight and warm the nave.

The western nave is one of the most beautiful mosque naves in Iran, which was decorated in tiles and bricks with paintings of roses, but repairs were made to it around 70 years ago, which covered the turquoise tiles. . The columns of the Nasir Al-Molk Mosque are one of the most beautiful columns in the historical places of Shiraz.
